SUMMER BREAK
SUMMER BREAK
 print this

HS INTERNATIONAL EDITION IS OFFICIALLY OFFLINE FROM 23.6.-31.7.

The International Edition is closed for the whole of the month of July.
Our last weekly digest of articles from the print-paper was published on June 20th, and our last dailies before the break appeared today, June 22rd, shortly before the Midsummer holiday weekend. We shall return with dailies on Monday July 31st, and with weeklies shortly thereafter.
July is not traditionally a very "hard" news month hereabouts, either politically or on the business front, as Finland is more or less "closed" for the duration. Many people choose to begin their vacation from the Midsummer weekend, which signals a mass migration to the summer cottage.
This year, however, Finland is holding the rotating six-month Presidency of the EU from July 1st, which may - or may not - see a slight increase in activity during this traditional holiday month.
However, most of the significant ministerial and other meetings have been carefully scheduled outside of this period in order that Eurocrats can join the rest of the nation in snoozing for the next four weeks or so.

A warm and relaxing summer to all our readers, and see you in August!
