 |
Between July and September 2009, Nokia sold a total of 16.4 million smartphones, up 900,000 on Q3/2008. On the other hand, this compares less favourably with the 16.9 million units reported sold in the second quarter of 2009.
In spite of the shrinking markets, the global research and consulting firm Strategy Analytics estimates that in 2009 the sales of smartphones will grow by 22% compared with last year.
Nokia estimates that in the third quarter the company’s market share for smartphones was 35%, which was the same as a year ago, but down from 41% in the second quarter of 2009.
The total sales of Nokia’s smartphones, related services and accessories was EUR 3.1 billion in Q3/2009, at the same level as in Q2. The average sales price of the smartphones, including the sales of services and accessories, was EUR 190, up from EUR 182.
