Notwithstanding the fact that the book was released only on the very last day of the month, Sofi Oksanen’s new novel Kun kyyhkyset katosivat ("When the Doves Disappeared") managed to claim the title as the most sold Finnish work of fiction in August.
The runner-up in the August sales figures was Leena Lehtolainen’s crime novel Paholaisen pennut (“The Devil’s Cubs”).
The third most sold domestic fiction novel was Tuomas Kyrö’sMielensäpahoittaja ja ruskeakastike (“Taking Offence: The Brown Sauce”).
The August bestseller among translated fiction was Camilla Läckberg’s detective novel The Lighthouse Keeper.
The most sold children's and young adults' book was Timo Parvela’sElla ja kadonnut karttakeppi and the most sold non-fiction work David Lagercrantz’sI Am Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the biography of the Swedish footballer.
