A novel by Finnish-Estonian author Sofi Oksanen is to be translated into Russian. The rights to the novel Puhdistus (“Purge”) was bought by the St. Petersburg-based Limbus Press.
The novel deals with the difficult recent past that Estonia had under occupation by the Soviet Union.

The topic is a controversial one in Russia, as Russia and Estonia have conflicting interpretations of the history of the Soviet period.
Oksanen says that she is pleased with the deal, and that more information on the matter will be given out later.
