The woman arrested in connection with a fatal traffic accident that occurred in Lapinlahti in Northern Savo last week has admitted being guilty as charged.
The police suspect the 52-year-old woman of aggravated drunk driving and aggravated involuntary manslaughter, among other offences.
”During questioning she has said that she is sorry about what happened”, reports Detective Inspector Veli Pallonen from the North Savo Police Department.
An 11-year-old girl died of the injuries she sustained in the fatal crash that occurred on Wednesday of last week.

The police suspect that the car the Lapinlahti resident was driving collided with the girl and her 16-year-old sister as they were riding their bicycles.
After the accident the woman blew 2.2 per mille into a breathalyser, well over the blood-alcohol limit for aggravated DUI.
According to DI Pallonen, the woman had been convicted of aggravated drunk driving more than 15 years ago.
The police released the arrested woman on Saturday, saying that as far as investigations are concerned, there is no reason for her to be remanded in custody.
