Finnish band The Rasmus, currently on tour in Russia, were obliged to cancel their gig in Novosibirsk on Saturday when the stage collapsed a matter of hours before the band were due to go on.
The cause of the accident was apparently a disparity between the carrying capacity of the stage and the band's heavy grand piano.
Nobody was injured, but the band's equipment suffered some damage.
The popular Finnish four-piece under front-man Lauri Ylönen will next be performing in the Avangard Stadium in Vladivostok on Wednesday. They are on an eight-date stadium tour of Russia along with veteran Alice Cooper and The Scorpions.
The Rasmus will also be making two festival appearances in Finland in late July.
An earlier date on their current Black Roses Tour - in Mexico City - had to be cancelled in April as a result of the swine flu outbreak.
