The Voice TV overtakes MTV in viewer ratings
The music channel The Voice TV has bypassed Music Television (MTV) as the most popular music television station in Finland.
In the last week of September The Voice had 1,099,000 viewers, while MTV reached 626,000 viewers.
At the beginning of the year MTV was still ahead of The Voice TV in viewer ratings.
The Voice has been attracting increasing numbers of viewers.
In July the channel reached about 750,000 viewers.
Meanwhile, MTV's viewer-base has remained largely unchanged, hovering between 600,000 and 700,000.
The Voice is a Finnish music channel that replaced the now-defunct television channel Viisi in 2004. It is also a radio station, having started up at the beginning of 2007, when it took the frequency of Radio Kiss FM, Or Kiss.
