US woman claims Hotel Kämp gave her room key to assailant
An American woman has filed a lawsuit against the US Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide over an attempted sexual assault that occurred at the Helsinki Hotel Kämp, a luxury hotel operated by the chain.
According to the woman, the front desk clerk had given a copy of her room key to a drunken man, who claimed that he was her husband.
The man entered her room, slipping into her bed and starting to grope her, but the woman managed to flee.
The parties to the case have returned to the United States, and the investigations relating to the incident have ended in Finland.
According to the Managing Director of the Hotel Kämp, the hotel staff have been instructed to be careful to whom they give the room keys.
The matter was first reported in Finland by the online newspaper Uusi Suomi.
