Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen (Centre) is annoyed at the juxtaposition in the media of his his court case concerning the book published by his former girlfriend Susanna Ruusunen with the furore concerning the text messages sent to dancer Johanna Tukiainen which led to the resignation of Ilkka Kanerva (Nat. Coalition Party) from his post as Minister for Foreign Affairs.
In an interview with two provincial newspapers, Vanhanen, who has put a great emphasis on his right to privacy, denied that he would have agreed to any "typical" family interviews. However, he admits that "flashes" of his private life have come out into the public eye. He denounced as hypocritical the claims that he would have opened his own private life to the scrutiny of the media.

Vanhanen also shed light on his political goals for the future. Running for President does not excite him, but he does aim for a third term as Prime Minister.
Vanhanen has made no final decisions on a possible presidential run. He said that a decision could be forthcoming before the Parliamentary elections of 2011.
