Vappu / May Eve & May Day Celebrations

Vappu / May Eve & May Day Celebrations
 print this
Since Monday will be May Day, a public holiday hereabouts, the International Edition will not be appearing until Tuesday May 2nd, and next week's weeklies will accordingly be updated on Wednesday 3rd.
For anyone requiring the background to this event (which can come as a shock to the first-timer) we can only continue to direct you to earlier pieces on the subject of Vappu, though please remember that last year's event fell on a different day of the week. Please also bear in mind in any case that the holiday is likely to cause changes to bus and train timetables, store opening hours, and the availability (through Alko) of the necessary celebratory lubricants. Alko, for example, will be open as normal on Friday and Saturday, but the doors will be firmly closed on Monday.

Hauskaa vappua!

We apologise in advance for any broken links in the story from 2000, which can be found from the links to last year's notes below.
