
YLE poll: True Finns continue to gain ground

Support for the populist right-of-centre True Finns party has continued to grow, according to a survey commissioned by the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE).
According to the poll, support for the True Finns is now at 15.3 per cent, a gain of 0.4 %-points from November.
The National Coalition Party gained 0.1 points, to get 21.2 per cent, while the Centre rose by 0.2 %-points to 18.8% The opposition Social Democrats lost 0.3 points, scoring a record-low 18.1 per cent.
The Green League was measured at 9.5 per cent, up slightly, and the Left Alliance got 8.1 per cent. The Christian Democratic Party is getting just 3.8 per cent, and the Swedish People’s Party is getting 3.4 per cent. Both these parties saw support dwindling.
The poll had 2,400 respondents, and the margin of error is 1.7 per cent.
Finns will go to the polls for real, to elect a new intake for the 200-seat Parliament and a new government, in April 2011.
