Defeat to Italy's Andrea Benelli (right) in the shoot-off initially felt like a slight disappointment for Marko Kemppainen, but on reflection he was delighted with his silver medal, which was a great deal more than he had expected to take away from the Athens Olympics. Kemppainen also equalled the world record in the qualifying rounds of the event, with a perfect score of 125/125 targets hit. After the ceremonies, he expressed a certain trepidation about the reception committees that are likely on his return. As a representative of a relatively small sport, he is not accustomed to being mobbed by the media. Should he be Finland's only medallist at these games, he will be very much the centre of attention.
