At the Koukkuniemi old people's home in Tampere, Liisa Paananen (left)
and Anna Salmi turn over a patient while wearing gloves and masks. All
20 of the residents on this particular ward are MRSA carriers. The
presence of the bacteria only shows itself in the ward's close attention
to hygiene. Residents can come and go as normal, and can have visitors.
The ward was established just under two years ago.
