The top diagram shows how the walls start to curve upwards from the initial wedge-shaped brick. The mould is fixed to the centre of the igloo and moved around on its axis on the end of the metal shaft. The second picture shows how the door opening can be made after three or four levels of bricks are in place. The doorway forms a tunnel, with the upper edge at ground level. As the igloo gets higher, it is worth removing the front panel of the mould for easier access.
