The Sikorsky S-76 belonging to Copterlines that has gone down in the sea close to the Estonian coast, seen here over the Gulf of Finland. The Finnish company runs a regular connection between Helsinki and the Estonian capital, Tallinn. The aircraft was three or four minutes into its normal 20-minute crossing when it abruptly lost contact with ground controllers and vanished from radar screens. The crew had apparently given no indication of possible problems. All twelve passengers and two crew members are believed to have perished in the crash.
