Kakslauttanen is on Highway 4, just south of the Saariselkä ski-resort in North-Eastern Lapland, and close to the Urho Kekkonen National Park. Flights in and out use the airport at Ivalo, around 25km away. The nearest rail station is in Rovaniemi, some 260km to the south-west. Kakslauttanen is around 250km north of the Arctic Circle.
