The Finnish players had their heads down after the final buzzer. After seven straight wins and a string of stand-out performances, a narrow defeat in the final - to Sweden - was a bitter pill to swallow. Things were not made any easier by the knowledge that the Finns, in getting to the final, had eclipsed Russia, a team that inflicted a crushing 5-0 defeat on the Swedes earlier in the tournament.
