Seppo Knuuttila, who headed the recent voyage of the marine research vessel Muikku, is very concerned about the state of the Gulf of Finland. Sediment samples reveal that there is little life on the bottom. On the positive side, there is less toxic blue-green algae in the gulf than in previous summers.
