The Centre Party began preparing for the municipal elections in the autumn of 2008 with a cruise already in December 2007 on the Viking Isabella, which sailed from Turku to Stockholm and back. A performance in the ship’s night club by Mega-Paula was watched by ministers Paula Lehtomäki, Mari Kiviniemi, and Party Secretary Jarmo Korhonen. Lehtomäki received EUR 15,000 in campaign contributions from KMS, an organisation which received considerable support from the recently bankrupt Nova Group.
