Wood-burning stoves minimise the need for electric heating in the Karkkila home of Finnish-born Anne-Maria Flanagan and her Irish husband Adrian. The two also fight climate change simply by wearing wool clothing in the winter instead of overheating the house, and by conscientiously recycling as much of their household waste as possible.
