Janne Ahonen's deadpan expressions - he is not given to smiling broadly in "How do you feel?" interviews, though he has loosened up somewhat in recent years - may have caused some amusement, but in competition Ahonen seldom gave his rivals much reason to smile. His record speaks for itself.
