Helsingin Sanomat's cartoonist Kari Suomalainen regularly rubbed Finnish politicians up the wrong way, although one would be surprised to see just how many of them had the signed originals on their office wall. In this example from 1973, the vigour of President Urho Kekkonen (then already 73 years old) has obliged Mauno Koivisto (left, then Governor of the Bank of Finland, later President of Finland), Kalevi Sorsa (Prime Minister), Ahti Karjalainen (Foreign Minister), and Johannes Virolainen (Finance Minister) to stock up desperately on Gerovital anti-aging tablets. Sorsa's necktie was a trademark Kari gesture.
