Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen says that proposed legislation allowing employers greater (but not total) access to employees' company e-mail has been through thorough scrutiny. Some legal experts oppose the measure, saying that allowing employers to see who an employee has been in correspondence with is a violation of constitutional guarantees of privacy, even if the content of the messages themselves remain confidential.
