The image shows those MPs who voted for and against the contentious law on data protection for electronic communications. The order of parties from left to right is Swedish People's Party (Rkp), National Coalition (Kok), Christian Democrats (Kd), Centre Party (Kesk), Greens (Vihr), True Finns (Perus), Social Democrats (SDP), and Left Alliance (Vas). A total of 96 MPs voted "Jaa" in favour of the bill, 56 voted "Ei" to reject it (including two members of the government party Greens), and 47 MPs were absent for the vote. The opposition parties (SDP, Left Alliance, True Finns, and Christian Democrats) fairly solidly opposed the motion, with the exception of a few members of the Christian Democrats. In the 200-member unicameral Finnish Parliament, the Speaker (currently Sauli Niinistö, shown at bottom left separately from the other members who are in their normal seating in the chamber) does not have a vote.
