Presidents Medvedev and Halonen greet members of the public from the balcony of the Presidential Palace in Helsinki on Monday afternoon. At left is President Medvedev's wife Svetlana Medvedeva, and on the right is Dr. Pentti Arajärvi, President Halonen's husband. The first visit of the Russian President brought out a crowd in the hundreds, made up of casual onlookers and activists alike, including a small group of demonstrators demanding the return of ceded areas in Karelia.
