The oak-tree coat of arms of the former town of Ekenäs (Tammisaari in Finnish, but it is a predominantly Swedish-speaking area) in a removals box. Ekenäs, Karis (Karjaa in Finnish), and the municipality of Pohja were merged in the summer of 2007 to become Raseborg (Raasepori). Many more such heraldic devices would be consigned to history under the planned municipal reforms, which are causing political divisions and have also prompted worry among those in communities likely to be swallowed up by larger neighbours.
