Concerns about Finland were voiced across party lines as the Parliament convened on Wednesday to discuss the situation in Ukraine on the basis of a statement issued by Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen (NCP). The majority of the unease concerned the economic sanctions the European Union has threatened to resort to if Ukraine and Russia are unable to initiate bilateral negotiations in a bit to resolve the conflict. Several Members of the Parliament view that the sanctions could prove detrimental for Finland.
