Investigation into cyber-espionage attack against Ministry for Foreign Affairs drags on
The investigation into the cyber-espionage campaign against the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs drags on. Although the ministry has completed its own assessment of the attack, the Finnish Security Intelligence Service (Supo) has yet to wrap up its pre-trial investigation into the potential aggravated espionage. “We cannot comment on an ongoing investigation,” states Tuomas Portaankorva, a chief inspector at Supo.
A statement issued by the Finnish Government indicates that President Sauli Niinistö and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy on Friday discussed a report on the data security violation and the measures required to beef up data security.
