The days of breakneck growth at the mobile game studio Rovio are over. On Monday, the creator of the wildly successful Angry Birds franchise revealed that in 2013 its net sales only improved marginally from the previous year, to 156 million euros. Its earnings before interest and taxes, in turn, nosedived from the 76.8 million euros posted in 2012 to 36.5 million euros last year.

Rovio earnings halved in 2013
In 2013, the number of people employed by Rovio increased from 500 to 800. Between 2010—2012, the Finnish game studio grew at a breakneck rate, posting annual net sales of 6.5 million euros in 2010, 75.6 million in 2011 and 152.2 million in 2012.
