Monday's news that the Finnish building contractor Lemminkäinen will launch extensive consultative negotiations came as no shock to the Finnish Construction Trade Union. “We were expecting them [the negotiations] due to the malaise. Lemminkäinen has carried out major reforms and will now continue improving its productivity,” Matti Harjuniemi, the chairperson at the trade union, commented.
