Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen (NCP) has said that he is prepared to re-locate to Brussels in early July, if he is appointed to succeed Olli Rehn (Centre) as the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs after Rehn assumes his new duties in the European Parliament. “I'm ready to start on 1 July, if possible,” Katainen told Finnish reporters in Brussels on Tuesday.

The European Parliament will convene for its first plenary session on 1 July, but European Commissioners will hold their posts at least until early November.
