Thomas Müller scored a hat-trick as Germany thrashed Portugal 4-0 in their opening game of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil on Monday. The 24-year-old German forward scored the first goal of the night from the penalty spot with 12 minutes on the clock following a clumsy foul on Mario Götze by Portugal's Joao Pereira. Germany extended their lead 20 minutes later, when Mats Hummels rose clear to head in a corner from Toni Kroos.
