Kesko on Monday announced that it will shut down four Kodin1 department stores as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the profitability of its troubled retail chain Anttila. The stores facing closure are Helsinki Ruoholahti, Kuopio Kolmisoppi, Lappeenranta and Tampere Lielahti. To be implemented within a year, the closures are projected to translate to the redundancies of roughly 200 full-time personnel.
