The early retirements of chief executives should be a thing of the past, Matti Vanhanen, the executive director at the Finnish Family Firms Association, stated while commenting on the recent decision of Pekka Laaksonen to retire as the chief executive of Valio at the age of 58. Laaksonen has cited exhaustion as a reason for his decision.
