Around 75 per cent of Finnish households say that they are able to put some money aside regularly to build a nest egg for their children, reveals a new survey by Danske Bank. However, only 17 per cent of Finnish families save child benefits.

"A vast majority of families use their child benefits to pay for things. Those families that save child benefits usually put the money directly to the child's bank account," says Pia Lehto-Halonen, a branch manager at Danske Bank.
