The ruling parties are set to butt heads over a proposal to allow a tax deduction to families with children when the Government convenes for its anticipated budget session next week. Sources within the Social Democrats (SDP) reveal that the National Coalition (NCP) has proposed that families in all income brackets – instead of only low and middle-income families – be made eligible for the deduction. The SDP, however, is unsure about offering the incentive also to high-income households.
