Kesko announced on Thursday that it will shed a total of 193 positions in three of its business segments as a result of extensive consultative negotiations. The number of redundancies also includes possible voluntary retirements and non-renewals of fixed-term employment contracts. Initially, the traditional retailer estimated that it would need to cut up to 230 positions.

Kesko sheds nearly 200 positions
The redundancies are necessary due to an organisational overhaul undertaken by Kesko, which will result in the integration of K-Citymarket, currently a part of the home and speciality goods division of Kesko, into Kesko Food.
