Up to 400,000 people could soon be without a job in Finland. The Ministry of Employment and the Economy forecasts that the country will be home to as many as 370,000 unemployed job seekers next year. The unemployment rate, meanwhile, is expected to creep up from 9.5 to 9.7 per cent in 2016.
The actual number of people who struggle to find employment is bound to be even higher. The Ministry of Employment and the Economy has calculated based on data gathered by Statistics Finland that the ranks of registered and unregistered job seekers have already swelled to 400,000.
